Colruyt Best Prices, Okay, and Comarché, in collaboration with the Federal Agency for the Safety of the Food Chain (AFSCA), are withdrawing chipolatas from sale due to possible Salmonella contamination, the Colruyt Group announced on Friday.

The affected products include Chipolata ± 350g, Chipolata ± 490g, Okay Chipolatas ± 500g, and Okay Chipolata BBQ 2 x ± 250g, all with a use-by date of 10/06/2025. They were sold in Colruyt Best Prices Belgium, Okay, Okay Compact, and Comarché outlets.

Customers who have bought these products are advised not to consume them but to return them to the store for a refund. All stores have now removed the affected products from their shelves.

Symptoms of Salmonella poisoning, such as fever, abdominal cramps, and diarrhoea, typically appear within 12 to 48 hours after consumption.

The symptoms generally last between 4 to 7 days, and most people recover without requiring specific treatment.
