'Behind every face is a story': Fedasil opens doors during World Refugee Week

Belgium's federal reception agency Fedasil will open its doors to the public to mark World Refugee Week from 16 to 22 June.

During this time, visitors will have the chance to learn more about the journey refugees undertake through various activities.

"Behind every face is a story," Fedasil stated. "This week is an invitation to listen, to share and above all, to meet."

Some centres will transform into 'living libraries', where visitors can engage in one-on-one conversations with 'living books': residents sharing inspiring personal stories.

Fedasil's residents and staff have also designed six cards to be distributed at various locations. These cards allow individuals to send warm messages to loved ones or residents, either by post or via a QR code.

In addition, portraits of eight residents from Brussels reception centres will be displayed in and around the city. These residents took photographers to locations meaningful to them. Accompanying QR codes will provide access to an audio retelling of their stories.
