A team of four international astronauts has left the ISS and is returning to Earth aboard a SpaceX capsule after nearly five months in space.

The crew comprises Anne McClain and Nichole Ayers from the United States, Takuya Onishi from Japan, and Russian cosmonaut Kirill Peskov, who conducted scientific experiments during their stay aboard the ISS.

Their return journey to Earth is expected to take approximately 17 hours. The SpaceX capsule is scheduled to land off the coast of California on Saturday afternoon local time, where a recovery boat will retrieve the astronauts.

Their March departure to space was closely monitored as it was necessitated by the need to facilitate the return of two American astronauts who had been stranded in space for nine months due to issues with the Starliner capsule.
