Belgian video technology company EVS has revealed plans to acquire Telemetrics', a US-based, family-run robotics company specialising in media productions.
The deal is expected to be finalised on 1 October, according to EVS.
The acquisition aims to bolster the company’s presence in the US market, a strategic move outlined in a press statement.
EVS also stated that the integration of Telemetrics will open up opportunities to explore domestic product assembly in the United States.
This initiative is seen as a way to counter the challenges posed by evolving US tariff structures, which have significantly increased import duties on foreign goods.
Known for its expertise in video technology for live sports broadcasting, EVS also provides critical solutions for offside detection and video assistant referees (VAR), widely used in football.
