Police operations conducted over the weekend at Les Solidarités festival in Suarlée (Namur) led to 57 people being fined for possession of drugs or knives, police confirmed on Monday.

For the past three years, drug-related inspections have been carried out during the Namur-based event with the assistance of trained sniffer dogs.

This year, 303 individuals were searched, up from 207 in 2024, after being flagged by the dogs. Of those searched, 57 people—down from 65 in 2024—were found in possession of drugs or knives and issued on-the-spot fines totalling €5,075.

The seizures included 60 cannabis joints, 64.71 grammes of cannabis, 1.51 grammes of amphetamines, 1.6 grammes of speed, 2.7 grammes of cocaine, and two knives.

“The quantities seized from each person were small and almost certainly intended for personal use,” Namur police stated. “No one searched was found with amounts suggesting intentions to traffic drugs on the festival site.”
