A Second World War bomb was discovered on nearby land, which has closed a section of National Road 76 near Opglabbeek in Limburg Province late Tuesday morning.

The Belgian Army’s bomb disposal unit, SEDEE, is currently on-site to neutralise the device.

The road, which connects Bree to Genk, has been shut between kilometre markers 32 and 33.

A nearby cycle path is also closed.

Local police are present to manage the situation.
