A 33-year-old man sustained life-threatening injuries during a fight on Sunday morning in Antwerp, according to local police.
The incident occurred around 8:30 in the morning on Anneessensstraat. The victim was urgently taken to hospital in critical condition.
Police quickly identified a suspect, who was later apprehended by officers from the Rivierenland police zone in the Mechelen region.
The suspect has been transferred to Antwerp for questioning. Forensic investigators have been called to the scene to conduct evidence analysis.
