The Flemish Minister of Education, Ben Weyts (N-VA), expressed concerns and disappointment following the decision on Friday to impose the wearing of masks in classes from the age of six.
“You cannot expect a Minister of Education to applaud today. The obligation to wear masks for children from six years old is hard for me to accept,” Weits said according to Belga News Agency.
Weits is also unhappy with the decision to bring the Christmas holidays earlier a week. “I would have preferred that the schools who wish to do so, would be allowed to stay open during the last week,” he said.
