Brussels police have said they arrested 20 people on Sunday after demonstrations in Brussels against the government’s latest measures to stop the spread of the coronavirus.
Four demonstrators and two police officers were also injured, according to Belga news agency.
Eight thousand people took part in the demonstration, according to a police estimate.
The demonstration was largely uneventful, but a small group of people clashed with police when the march reached its final destination near Schuman.
Police responded with a water cannon and tear gas, which resulted in some injuries. Several police vehicles were also damaged.
The protesters had gathered at Brussels North station at around midday and the march kicked off around 1.30 pm.
It was led by a delegation of firemen in uniform on the first row, as well as nursing staff.
