In the end-of-year period, no vaccinations will be administered in several vaccination centres in Belgium, confirmed Dirk Ramaekers of the Vaccination Taskforce.
How many centres will be affected will only become clear in the coming weeks, he said during a press briefing on Saturday.
“Our vaccination centres will soon have been operating for a year. They run on volunteers and healthcare professionals, and several centres have now decided to give them a break,” said Ramaekers. “We have to respect that. I am sure they will make up for it before or after.”
People who are invited can be sure that they will get their scheduled shot, but the centres noticed that those who are invited during the holidays are often less inclined to show up.
