The Belgian Red Cross has issued a further appeal for Blood donations, saying that it is still short of 1,000 blood bags required for the festive season and the weeks to come.
An appeal for blood donations launched two weeks ago has positively affected levels, with stocks improving to meet the current demands of hospitals, Belga News Agency reports.
However, the levels remain insufficient to meet the demand during the holiday period and the following weeks warns the Red Cross.
While the preparation of the festive season and the health measures take centre stage at this time of year, the mobilisation of blood, plasma and platelet donors remains necessary, as it is every year, to help the sick.
Therefore, the Red Cross invites the population to make an appointment to donate blood via the website www.DonneurDeSang.be
