A 22-year-old Colombian woman was held against her will overnight on New Year’s Eve in a house near Hasselt in the Flemish province of Limburg, local police said Saturday.

A special unit of the federal police raided the house at around 1 am on Saturday to put an end to the captivity, according to Belga News Agency.

The suspect is believed to be “a man with whom the victim had been in contact from Colombia for some time,” according to Dorien Baens, spokesperson for the Limburg Region police. The 60-year-old man was arrested and taken to the police station.
