The Consultative Committee may have decided to implement the coronavirus barometer with the country starting in colour code red, according to reports in local media.
The Committee meeting started over an hour later than initially planned due to disagreements about the coronavirus barometer, but an agreement has reportedly been reached, reports Het Laatste Nieuws, citing confirmation from several sources.
As soon as the tool is introduced, Belgium is said to start in 'code red' – the strictest phase – according to reports by VRT.

For the hospitality industry, this reportedly means that bars and restaurants can again stay open until midnight, instead of 23:00. If Belgium moves to 'code orange,' a closing hour would no longer be needed.
Importantly, these reports remain unconfirmed until/unless they are announced by Prime Minister Alexander De Croo at a press conference, which is set to start at 19:00 today. An overview of everything that was expected to be discussed can be found here.
