The application used in the hospitality industry to read the QR codes on customers’ health passes will be put out of service from Monday, when the Covid Safe Ticket (CST) will no longer be used in Belgium, Belga News Agency reports.
"Not only will the CST no longer be required to enter restaurants or shows, but it will simply be impossible to use it", Health Minister Frank Vandenbroucke said on Friday in answer to a question on the VRT’s evening news.
- Belgian cinemas delighted about removal of CST and facemasks
- Belgium switches to code yellow from Monday
However, this does not mean the CST is being shelved permanently, according to the minister, who said it could still be used if there is a new surge in the pandemic.
The future of the CST, like that of the Passenger Locator Form (PLF) was discussed at Friday’s meeting of the Consultative Committee but no decision was yet taken.
