Saturday's shooting of a 43-year-old man on Place De Brouckère seems to be the result of a twenty-year 'vendetta' according to HLN.

At around 20:20 on Saturday, shots were fired in the centre of Brussels. According to the Flemish newspaper, Erion H was seriously injured after being shot in the chest and legs, by 44-year-old Noga K.

The shooting looked to be a settling of scores since both men had been embroiled in a long-running feud. Noga K was convicted of murdering Erion H's father in 2000.

In retaliation, Erion H organised a raid on an Antwerp cafe frequented by Noga K at the time and killing one of his acquaintances.

On Monday, the Brussels Public Prosecutor's office confirmed to Belga News Agency that an investigation was underway, but that they would not be making any additional comments.
