Horse injures 3 people at Belgian shrimp festival
Horseback shrimp fishing in the northern coast of Belgium is a UNESCO cultural heritage event which attracts thousands of tourists every year.

Three people were injured on Sunday by a horse during the annual shrimp festival in Oostduinkerke.

The incident occurred just after the end of the festivities near Navigo, the national fishing museum.

According to witnesses, a person inserted their fingers into the horse’s nose, causing the animal to react with distress.

Three people were injured. One of them was treated at the spot, but the other two had to be hospitalised due to their wounds.

The horse was quickly calmed down by a fisherman on horseback and a volunteer firefighter, which prevented the situation from escalating.
