'Brussels in Bloom,' a floral trail through the city centre, is currently open to the public until 15 August.

The walking path, which starts from the Grand Place and lasts around 25 minutes, will bring travellers to streets in the centre of town to discover a variety of floral masterpieces by Belgian designers.

It consists of twelve iconic spots in Brussels' city centre, such as Rue des Brasseurs and Rue du Marché aux Fromages, that have been ornamented with the 'Floral Balls' exhibition by Max Hurtaud, which features balls hung in mineral fibres in spring-like colours.

The 'Flower Carpet,' an ephemeral art installation that attracts over 200,000 visitors every two years, is the trail's most notable exhibition. This year, it will be in the Grand Place from 12 to 15 August.

The 'Brussels in Bloom' floral path arose from the City's desire to give variety within its events, with the goal of making it available to shopkeepers as well.

"We aim to present tourists with a harmonised experience with 'Brussels in bloom,' so that their astonishment is not limited to their lone trip on the Grand-Place cobblestones." Fabian Maingain, the City's Councillor for Economic Affairs told Belga News Agency.

"This tour will take them through the streets of our city, introducing them to our award-winning brands. It is a genuine show of support for our retail and food enterprises, our catering establishments, and all those who make Brussels shine via their services," he added.
