Up to 2,000 households were left in the dark, after Kraainem and parts of Zaventem were affected by a power failure on Friday.
The Flemish municipalities of Woluwe-Saint-Etienne and Kraainem, which are also in the outskirts of Brussels, experienced a blackout at 12:37 following the failure of two medium-voltage cables.

This meant that nearly 2,000 families were left without electricity until power was restored at 14:32.
The electricity operator Fluvius has announced that they will be investigating the causes of these power cuts and complete any necessary repairs.
