A 32-year-old man died late Sunday afternoon in Hermalle-sous-Huy (Engis, Liège Province) after an altercation with another motorist, who turned himself in to the police on Monday, the Office of the Liège Public Prosecutor said, confirming media reports.

According to initial reports, the two motorists had a dispute on the road before ending up in a rest area of the RN90 in the direction of Huy-Liège.

The deceased, originally from La Bruyère, Namur Province, died after receiving a blow during the dispute. Unconscious in his vehicle, he could not be resuscitated by the emergency services. An autopsy was to be performed by a medical examiner to determine the precise cause of death.

The second motorist, who left after the altercation, gave himself up to the police and was incarcerated pending a hearing by the federal judicial police of Liège, who are in charge of the investigation.
