The Federal Public Service Interior decided to temporarily activate the 1722 emergency number on Tuesday evening, after the Royal Meteorological Institute issued a bad weather warning.
If one is in need of assistance from the fire brigade, the public is asked to call 1722 or consult the e-counter via www.1722.be.
The number 112 is available in life-threatening situations.
Sending a request through the 1722.be electronic counter is the most direct way to request help from the firefighters in non life-threatening situations, the FPS Interior advices.
