As previously announced, an alternative train service is running today with about half the normal number of trains running, Belgium's rail operator SNCB confirmed.
Specifically, every other IC train (between major cities) and half of suburban trains (S and L trains) are running. The P-trains, which only run during peak hours, remain unaffected in most cases. Travellers can check which trains are running on the journey planner on the SNCB website or app.
- Consecutive railway strikes to disrupt train traffic this week
- Three days of railway strikes instead of one this month in Belgium
It is the third consecutive strike day at the railways. On Tuesday, the three major unions went on strike and about a quarter of the trains were running. On Wednesday and Thursday, the strike of the train drivers' union ASTB continues and half of the trains run.
The strike will end at 03:00 on Friday morning.
