After trading at around 3,700 points on Thursday for half the session, the Bel 20 index sank back into the red for a second time with the approach of closing time.

By the end of the day, the benchmark index had risen by 0.35% to 3,697.81 points, with 16 of its components in the black.

Proximus (10.38) and Sofina (213.00) still stood out with recoveries of 3.82% and 3.60% while UCB (71.74) plunged 6.56% together with arGEN-X (387.00) which gave up 0.77%, while Solvay (94.20) recovered 0.34%.

AB InBev (56.89) maintained a 1.50% increase, Colruyt (25.66) was up 1.91% while KBC (52.82) and Ageas (39.10) were up 0.15% and 1.64% respectively.

WDP (25.88) and Elia (138.80) gained 2.29% and 2.06%, while GBL (77.96) and Umicore (34.78) rose by 1.75% and 1.70%.

Intervest Offices (19.46) returned to the screens with its shares down by 5.1%, Tubize (69.30) lost 3.2% in the wake of UCB, while GIMV (43.60) and Econocom (2.98) soared by 5.6% and 5.8% and Belysse (1.315) by 9.1%.

Oxurion (0.0142) lost 6.6%. MDxHealth (0.66) fell 4.1%, while Mithra (4.41) and Onward Medical (6.02) were down 2.4% and 2.6%.

At around 4.30pm, the euro was at $1.0505, up from $1.0445 in the morning and $1.0322 the previous day.

The ounce of gold gained $45.65 dollars, to end on $1,795.65, and the ingot traded at around €54,950, up €450.
