The Brussels Fire Brigade has reported a fire which broke out at a bakery in the city centre of Brussels at around 11:30 on Tuesday morning. Fortunately, no one was injured as firefighters managed to safely evacuate all those involved.

The Stalingrad neighbourhood, near the Gare du Midi, is located in the heart of Brussels and is home to many small businesses.

On Tuesday morning, however, disaster struck one of these commerces when a fire broke out in the basement of a bakery on Avenue Stalingrad.

As a result, firefighters were called to the scene at around 11:30 and, thankfully, managed to evacuate three people from the scene, with a spokesperson for the Brussels Fire Brigade informing The Brussels Times that no one had to be taken to hospital as a result of the fire.

The fire brigade is now ventilating the building. The cause of the fire has not yet established. They have confirmed, however, that the dwellings above the commerce were unaffected, with only the bakery being out of service.
