From Saturday 10 December (tomorrow), filling up with petrol at the pump will become cheaper again, according to the new rates published by the Federal Public Service Economy on Friday.
The maximum price of petrol 95 (E10) will drop by 6.7 cents to €1.683/litre, which brings the price to the lowest level since 30 December 2021, when it was €1,667/litre.
In mid-June, the price of petrol 95 still reached a record €2.155/litre, mainly due to Russia's invasion of Ukraine. At that point, there was even an excise duty reduction in force, which has since been completely eliminated.
For petrol 98 (E5), the price drops by 8 cents to €1.872/litre on Saturday – the lowest since mid-April, when a discount still applied. The price peaked at €2.402/litre in early June.
