Shots were fired on Wednesday at two houses near the Miksebaan in Brasschaat, Antwerp Province, probably with a shotgun, according to local police.

Since there is a hunting ground next to the houses, investigators suspect this was an accident. However, an investigation into the incident is ongoing.

A local resident had notified police on Wednesday afternoon that he thought he had heard some kind of explosion. Soon after, the impacts of bullets were detected in two homes.

Since the bullets came from a shotgun, police believe this was either a hunting accident or a prank.
