The household savings rate in Belgium continued to fall in the third quarter of 2022 (July-September), plunging to 14%, according to the National Bank of Belgium and the National Accounts Institute.
This was its lowest level since the fourth quarter of 2021 (12.3%).
In the second quarter of 2022, Belgian households registered a savings rate of 15.6%.
The household investment rate (which includes housing construction and renovation) remained stable in the third quarter at 10.1%.
