The Liège Criminal Court decided on Wednesday to seek the opinion of a service specialising in the treatment of sex offenders before handing down judgment on a 38-year-old man being prosecuted for offences against the sexual integrity of his daughter and for child pornography.
The defendant had included his 4-year-old daughter in paedophile scenarios and had distributed nude photos of her.
Between 2014 and 2022, the defendant collected 76,000 files of child pornography images. He was denounced in 2022 by an Internet user to whom he had spoken.
Further, he took pictures of his daughter naked in ambiguous positions and posted them on the Internet. He also devised sexual scenarios for strangers, in which he proposed to include his daughter.
The prosecution had requested a sentence of five years in prison, a three-year suspension of the sentence and a ban on association with minors.
In order to assess whether the defendant is eligible for probation, the court decided to seek advice from a service specialising in the treatment of sex offenders.
The case will be reviewed on 22 March.
