A woman is suspected of killing her partner in Brussels on Wednesday night, Sudinfo and Het Nieuwsblad report.
The woman allegedly stabbed the man with a large knife in their flat on Boulevard du Midi.
According to the two newspapers, the events took place at around 2 a.m. Emergency services were called in and when they arrived on the scene they found the woman covered in blood. She appeared unharmed, but her partner had serious injuries to his torso and there was nothing that the paramedics could do.
In her initial statements, the woman denied committing the crime, claiming that a third person had entered the flat and killed her husband. A large knife, which was probably used in the incident, was found near the building where the couple lived.
According to the two newspapers, the couple had been arguing more and more often and the police had recently had to intervene because the woman had injured herself with a knife.
