An armed robbery took place on Thursday evening in a luxury shoe shop in Genval, near Rixensart, the Walloon Brabant Public Prosecutor’s Office stated on Friday.
Two hooded individuals burst into the high-end business located along Rue des Ateliers in Genval shortly before 18:00 on Thursday.
One of the suspects was carrying a large kitchen knife with which he threatened an employee. The men then stole several pairs of shoes.
The scene nevertheless attracted the attention of a woman who works in a nearby beauty centre. A couple standing outside also observed the events and called the police.
The perpetrators fled, but witnesses were able to provide a very precise description, particularly of their clothing.
The two men, both born in 2001 and domiciled in Rixensart, were arrested.
