E-bicycle users in Brussels will have more options than before this summer with the announcement of two new mobility services.
Billy Bike, a shared bicycle service, will give users in Brussels free electric bicycle rides on Sundays this summer. There is no clear date for when “summer” ends.
Any user who takes a trip under 20 minutes on Sundays will be refunded the cost of their ride, Billy Bike said Wednesday.
The company said it wants as many users as possible to try an e-bicycle, according to BX1. Billy Bike covers Etterbeek, Ixelles, Saint-Gilles, and Brussels.
Swapfiets, a bicycle rental company, announced on Tuesday that it will be launching a monthly subscription service for e-bikes in Brussels and Antwerp, according to New Mobility.
Users can pay a monthly fee to rent an e-bike, which comes with a removable battery and can go as fast as 25 kilometres per hour. The service also comes with theft insurance and a program to fix the bicycles if they break.
