The total amount on regulated savings accounts in Belgium exceeded €300 billion once again in May, data from the National Bank showed on Wednesday.
Total savings deposits reached €300.28 billion, increasing for the first time since January.
In March, deposits had fallen below the symbolic €300 billion mark to €299.98 billion. One month later, they fell further, to €299.45 billion.
It has already been more than two years since regulated savings accounts have gathered around €300 billion, as savings rates remained low.
In June, various players in the economic world, including big banks such as Belfius and KBC, announced an increase in their interest rates.
