The heatwave affecting Europe has swimming pools around Brussels limiting the number of people who can swim at a time, according to Bruzz.
The Triton swimming pool in Evere cancelled swim lessons to allow more people to swim during the day, but it still hit its maximum capacity of 184 swimmers. The pool had to ask patrons to wait in the cafeteria until there was room for them to swim.
The pool also had to double its lifeguards on duty from two to four to ensure patron safety.
In Ganshoren, where the pool capacity is 155 people, guests are drawing numbers at the entrance, and one person may enter the pool area only when one person leaves.
