Police in Leuven were called in on Wednesday to free a baby locked in a car in the middle of the day.

The 11-month-old baby was rushed into hospital after passers-by called emergency services, seeing the baby locked inside the back of a car on Sint-Michielstrsstaat midday.

A police patrol arrived quickly and broke the window to free the baby.

After police followed up with the parents, it was revealed that the father simply had forgotten the baby when he was supposed to drop him off at the creche.
