Brussels public waste agency, Bruxelles-Propreté, has come under criticism for its deteriorating management over the past five years.

No structural waste policy is in place and the budget has decreased, which has affected the quality of service. One anonymous source told Le Soir, "It's a disaster."

Two people are receiving the brunt of the criticism: Vincent Jumeau, Director General and Fadila Laanan, Secretary of State in charge, while the two put the blame on each other.

The recruiting process by the socialist party also came under fire. Nearly 500 staffers were hired in the past five years, which is an increase of 20% and an extra 20 million euro in staff costs.

Additionally, there is a shortage of 20 to 50 million euros to complete Bruxelles-Propreté's budget for 2019.
