A group of young people stole a construction machine on Tuesday night in Antwerp Province, then sold it on the internet, police sources said on Wednesday.
During a drunken night out, the group made off with an excavator from a construction site in the town of Grobbendonk.
When the police arrested three of them, it turned out that the machine had already been sold on the Internet.
The suspects are to be summoned shortly for questioning. The digger should also soon be recovered.
