Two teenagers were victims of a chainsaw attack on Friday evening in the Haute-Fagnes region, Le Soir reports. A 44-year-old man was deprived of his liberty.

While travelling in the municipality of Daverdisse in the province of Luxembourg on a moped, two young people born in 2006 and 2007 were attacked by an exasperated resident, said the Luxembourg prosecutor's office.

The 44-year-old returned to his home and came back with a chainsaw. He then advanced towards the two teenagers to threaten them with the lit device. The man struck the moped with the chainsaw, partially cutting the seat.

While trying to retrieve his helmet, one of the two teenagers received cuts from the chainsaw to his shoulder and hands. The victim fortunately only suffered minor injuries.

The chainsaw wielding man was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the incident, the prosecutor noted. Deprived of liberty around 20:30, he was later released on bail. The case will be further investigated by police.
