The second edition of the Brussels Biennale of Eclectic Architecture (BBEA) will be held from 7 to 15 October, event organisers Explore.Brussels announced on Wednesday.
Guided tours of interiors usually closed to the public, guided tours through the city, conferences and activities targeting different audiences - families, schools, people with disabilities, etc. - are on the programme.
Exceptionally, the hotels Campioni, Boël and Puccini, the former homes of architects Paul Saintenoy and Jean-Baptiste Timmermans, and the Bertha Harmand and Résimont houses (now Prague House) will all be opening their doors to the public.
The Royal Church of Sainte-Marie and the CIVA will host activities specially designed for families and children, and guided tours adapted for the visually and hearing impaired will be organised at the Hôtel du gouverneur de la Banque nationale de Belgique and the former Palais du Comte de Flandre. Guided tours for people with mental disabilities are also planned.
The weekend of 7 and 8 October will be devoted to the north of Brussels (Schaerbeek, Saint-Josse-ten-Noode, Laeken and the north of the Pentagon) while the 14-15 October weekend will focus on the communes of Ixelles, Saint-Gilles, Etterbeek and Anderlecht.
