A 72-year-old Belgian woman drowned in a swimming pool while on holiday in Catalonia last Thursday reports the Spanish news agency ACN.
The victim was staying with her husband in a holiday home in the municipality of Deltebre, more than 100 kilometres south of Barcelona.
Her husband had gone out for a walk when a cleaner at the holiday home discovered the body in the water just after seven o’clock.
The emergency services arrived on the scene but were unable to resuscitate her.
