The Namur Criminal Court on Thursday sentenced a man to 10 years in prison for raping and inciting his daughter to debauchery, indecent assault and possession of cocaine.
Between October and December 2021, the accused, born in 1974, repeatedly raped his daughter, who was over 16 at the time. He also made her consume cocaine. The defendant confessed.
Referring to the despicable facts, the office of the public prosecutor explained at a hearing on 21 September that the defendant had tried to manipulate the victim from prison, in particular by paying her money.
The defence pleaded for a five-year prison sentence, suspended on probation.
