Weather will remain dry on Friday afternoon with sunny spells, and a strong breeze continuing throughout the weekend, peppered with occasional rainfall.
Friday’s temperatures are expected to reach highs of 7°C in the High Ardennes, up to 11 or 12°C in the west of the country, according to the Royal Meteorological Institute (RMI). Winds will be moderate inland and could reach gale force at sea, coming from the southwest initially, then south-southwest, with gusts hitting 50 to 60 km/h.
During Friday night into Saturday, dry conditions are set to continue, with minimum temperatures ranging between 3°C locally in the eastern Cantons and 8 to 9°C in the lower and central parts of Belgium. Southern winds will generally be moderate but potentially stronger at sea with gusts of 50 to 55 km/h.
Saturday will start dry but will see the arrival of a new rain front from France by late morning, moving gradually to other regions.
The afternoon is set to vary with sunny spells and showers scheduled, some of which may be quite heavy. Maximum temperatures will reach 7°C in the High Fens and 12°C in the west and centre of the country.
Throughout the day, gusts could increase to between 60 and 80 km/h or even more during strong showers.
Similar conditions are predicted for Sunday.
