Public sanitation workers at the Tibi inter-municipal company are to go on strike once more on Thursday, the CSC union reported on Wednesday evening.
The decision comes after negotiations earlier in the day between management and union representatives underscored a striking lack of consensus.
Tibi’s public sanitation service has around 150 employees, whose duties include manual and mechanical street cleaning, emptying bins, and collecting waste dumped around Charleroi city.
The workers, who voiced their complaints, criticised a flawed planning system, a lack of hardship allowances and ongoing tensions with management.
To underscore their grievances, union representatives presented a preliminary strike notice on Monday, followed by a day of action on Tuesday.
