The iconic head of “E.T.” has fetched $635,000 (over €581,000) at a Beverly Hills auction, falling far short of the projected estimate of $800,000 to $1 million.
Memorabilia such as the ‘Big Lebowski’ bathrobe, the blouse Princess Diana wore for her engagement, a jacket donned by Audrey Hepburn in ‘Charade’ (1963), and Carrie Bradshaw’s famous computer from ‘Sex and the City,’ were also up for bidding.
The auction continued on Friday.
Details reveal that the ‘E.T.’ head, sold by Carlo Rambaldi, creator of the famous sci-fi character, has movable nostrils, eyes, lips, and eyebrows.
In further sales, a sword from ‘Conan the Barbarian,’ wielded by Arnold Schwarzenegger in the 80s, sold for $45,500. A machete used by Harrison Ford in ‘Indiana Jones’, went for $65,000.
