Rail travel between Brussels and Nivelles will be suspended in both directions on Saturday, 13 and Sunday, 14 January, Infrabel announced on Thursday.
This interruption allows the railway network manager to perform infrastructure renewal works. These include renewing tracks, overhead lines, and signalling systems near the old Baulers station in line with the RER construction project and the addition of four lanes to the line.
Infrabel also plans to utilise this traffic disruption to lay two additional tracks at Lillois. The construction site will operate 24/7 throughout the weekend, with traffic expected to resume from the morning of Monday, 15 January.
The SNCB will deploy replacement buses in both directions. However, riders will need to showcase their SNCB ticket to board. Departure times for the shuttle services can be accessed via the SNCB’s mobile application or website.
