A light aeroplane crashed on Sunday morning close to the airfield in Spa, killing two people, Belga News Agency reports.
Initial reports suggest that it was a German-licensed plane, and the incident occurred around 100 metres from the airfield.
Around 09:00, the pilot tried to take off but the manoeuvre was made difficult by the fairly strong wind at Spa Malchamps, RTBF reports.
The pilot was unable to take off successfully and hit a parked car on the Spa-Francorchamps road, before bursting into flames.

The driver of the car had gotten out of his vehicle, apparently to smoke, when the accident occurred. This reportedly saved his life.
The environmental protection services are also on-site to prevent pollution of the Spa water catchments.
