A man was stabbed early Tuesday evening in the Alhambra district of Brussels, between the metro stops Yser and Rogier, local police and the Brussels Public Prosecutor's Office confirmed.
The incident occurred at around 17:30 at the intersection of Rue des Commerçants and Rue de Laeken. The victim received two stab wounds in the thigh and the buttock, and was taken to hospital.
His life was not in danger and, as a result, he was discharged from hospital later that same evening.

An investigation is underway to look into the circumstances behind the incident and to identify culprits, with preliminary elements showing that the victim had themselves inflicted injuries on another individual before being assaulted in turn.
