Due to two accidents in Flanders, traffic on the Brussels ring road was severely blocked on Monday morning.
The accidents occurred at around 06:00 in the Flemish municipalities of Zellik and Huizingen and have since been cleared up.
However, traffic in nearby areas has been left heavily congested, especially in the Belgian capital.
Drivers are being advised to use the Brussels outer ring road.
Traffic jams on the inner ring road of Brussels can last up until one hour, especially in direction of Groot-Bijgaarden.
Motorists going towards Antwerp, Halle and Huizingen, will also be caught up in lengthy traffic jams.
