Man jailed after brutal murder in Ixelles, other suspects at large
One of the suspects in the brutal murder of an Ixelles resident has been detained, but three others remain at large.

One person responsible for the murder of a 23-year-old man in the Brussels municipality of Ixelles has been put in prison but three other suspects remain at large, the public prosecutor's office confirmed Wednesday.

A judicial investigation was launched after the prisoner and three other individuals broke into their victim's home in the early hours of April 1 and beat up the 23-year-old man with a baseball bat, before stabbing him in front of his mother, girlfriend and three-year-old daughter.

The perpetrators fled the scene and the family phoned the police, but the Ixelles resident had already succumbed to his wounds by the time the emergency services arrived to his residence on Rue Maes, according to Bruzz.

The investigation ultimately led to the arrest of Konrad P., a Polish national who was detained and has been since jailed.

Authorities are still looking for the three other perpetrators, and while a conclusion has not yet been made about the motive behind the murder, some media reports point to a disagreement between both men.
