Two men suspected of making drone deliveries to prisoners have been arrested and charged in the Brussels-Capital/Ixelles police zone.

In the technical room of a central Brussels building where the suspects were arrested, police found a remotely controlled drone equipped with a hook. They also discovered a catapult and six carefully packaged parcels, robust enough to withstand impact and marked with nicknames, suggesting these were intended for inmates.

"Within the packages, some contained one or more mobile phones whilst others contained both mobile phones and drugs," stated the police. In total, they seized seven mobile phones, 54 grams of packaged cannabis resin and 51 grams of cannabis split into two blocks.

When the suspects were apprehended, they also had a firearm, a 100-gram block of cannabis resin, two blocks of cocaine weighing a total of 40.34 grams, a precision scale, empty containers usually used in drug sales, along with €950 in cash.

The investigating judge charged them with drug trafficking and firearm possession. Their cases are now under judicial control. Both men are already known to the police, with one on conditional release.
