A video of a man getting stabbed by another man in the Botanique metro station in Brussels on Friday evening is circulating on social media.
Around 9:00 PM on Friday 22 May, a 49-year-old man was attacked in the Botanique metro station in Brussels, according to the Brussels public prosecutor's office.
The perpetrator hit him several times and stabbed him in the leg with a knife. The perpetrator then fled.
"The victim was severely injured and his life was in danger," Willemien Baert, spokesperson of the Brussels public prosecutor's office, told The Brussels Times.
The context of the images is still under investigation. The federal judicial police's lab went to the scene to gather evidence.
An investigation for attempted manslaughter has been opened. "Several investigations are ongoing, including the analysis of the images, to identify the suspect and to clarify the exact circumstances," said Baert.
