A person was seriously injured in a shooting Friday afternoon in Schaerbeek, the Brussels public prosecutor confirmed.
The shooting took place around 3:20 PM on the fourth floor of an apartment building on place Eugène Verboekhoven. Police were sent to the scene in large numbers and set up a security perimeter. The victim was in critical condition and was taken to the hospital under the supervision of a physician.
Initial findings indicate that two shots were fired, but it is not yet known if the victim was hit twice. It is also not yet known whether a suspect has been identified or arrested.
